Do you get lost in a new series or a movie marathon???
I LOVE a good binge watching day, or night, or weekend, or ya know … however long it takes you to finish the series!
There’s just something about immersing yourself in a visual story. Maybe it’s because I’m an empath, or maybe just because I love a good plot line; but I’ve been known to stay up for 48 hours just because I get sucked into watching a new season on Netflix or finishing a good book series.
But I’ve come to learn that after a stint of choosing to binge, being lazy, snuggling in bed, or just relaxing; that there is only so much I can do of it.
A hack for those trying to maintain productivity while running a business, working full time, and/or being a parent.
Give yourself those days. Let yourself let loose and enjoy the down time when it comes.
No need to beat yourself up for “should be doing X” or the “I need to Y”
Without those days to rest, burnout will eventually win out.
Netflix and me, we got pretty chummy there for a while. Let’s face it, we’ve all done it. If it’s not streaming, it’s gaming, reading, or napping LOL I mean really!
But it always comes back to one of my favorite Dave Ramsey quotes. If you want to live a different life; “live like no one else will, so you can live like no one else can.”
You can still be friends with Netflix, but just like any relationship or hobby, don’t let it consume your days, months and years. Find that balance, use it as a reward system. Or work one day, then play the next.
Whatever works for you and your schedule, stay in flow and STOP JUDGING YOURSELF. You got this Love.
PS. If you haven’t watched Emily in Paris it’s a good one! Especially if you’re like me, and get motivation from travel vibes. It will inspire you to get back on that horse so you can work from anywhere you want.
